Meg-Alert provides permanently installed automatic insulation resistance testers. Meg-Alert's Motor Guards and Gen Guards are patented testing and protection systems designed to detect winding insulation breakdown in critical motors and generators. If an abnormal condition is detected, the equipment can be locked out, and a warning signal sent, indicating that the motor or generator requires attention. Meg-Alerts provides an early warning (pre-alarm) of insulation breakdown that allows maintenance personnel to safeguard against premature motor and generator failure and the resulting downtime. Downtime is reduced as critical motors/generators are pulled out of production on a predictive schedule rather than after a catastrophic failure.
